This Privacy Policy describes how Kata (“we,” “us”) collects, uses, and protects information you provide, including through our SMS messaging program.
Information we collect
We collect your name, phone number, and email address when you sign up for Kata or opt in to receive text messages, along with information related to trial class bookings and scheduling.
SMS messaging
By opting in, you agree to receive text messages related to trial class booking confirmations, appointment reminders, rescheduling notices, and post-trial follow-up. Message frequency varies but is generally limited to messages tied to your trial activity — expect no more than a few messages per week. Message and data rates may apply.
No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes.
Information sharing to subcontractors in support services, such as customer service, is permitted only for purposes directly related to operating our SMS program.
You can opt out of SMS messages at any time by replying STOP. Reply HELP for assistance.
How we use your information

- To operate and improve Kata’s trial booking and scheduling features

Google Calendar
A studio owner can choose to connect Google Calendar. Kata then creates one calendar named "Kata · [studio name]" in that owner's Google account and keeps it in step with the studio's schedule.
What Kata puts on that calendar: class and trial times, the instructor's name, the first name and age of each child in a class or booked for a trial, and, for trials only, the parent's phone number so an instructor can call. No last names, email addresses or notes.
What Kata reads from Google: only the events on the calendar Kata created, so it can apply a time change or a cancellation made there and put back any other change. Kata cannot see the owner's other calendars and uses this access only to keep that one calendar in step.
Kata's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
When the owner disconnects Google Calendar, Kata deletes that calendar from the owner's Google account and removes Kata's access.
Data retention and security
We retain your information only as long as necessary to provide our services and comply with legal obligations. We take reasonable measures to protect your information from unauthorized access.

You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information at any time by contacting us below.
